The exhibition aims to bring Devon’s modern political history to life through the memories and experiences of project participants. It will explore key themes that have developed within the audio interviews, including: family and politics, elections and electioneering, youth activism and Devon’s political movers and shakers.
Dr Paul Seaward, Director of the History of Parliament, commented:
“This exhibition - with the addition of some wonderfully resonant images – provides a window into some of the untold stories which can now be preserved and become built into the research of the future. In this project the History of Parliament, with the generous support of the Heritage Lottery Fund, and an enormous contribution from volunteers and from those who have been interviewed, has captured memories and stories of the enormous contribution such people – councillors, agents, activists, helpers – have made to Devon and its communities.”
