Biography
Wither, whose family had been seated at Oakley Hall since 1626, stood unsuccessfully for Shaftesbury in 1722. Returned as a government supporter for Christchurch in 1727, he voted with the Administration on the Hessians in 1730, and died 20 Nov. 1731.
