Biography
The Meres were tenants of the Dorset manor of Chaldon Bois, owned by the Russell family, and it was presumably the 2nd Earl of Bedford who supplied Mere with his seat at Melcombe in 1563. He may have been as much of a rogue as his brothers. He was dead by 1582.
