Biography
An older William Glasen, perhaps the MP’s father, had held office as portreeve of Helston in 1365-6. At what time in the year the elections of local officials were held is unclear, but even so it is likely that the younger William had left office as portreeve by the time of his return to the Parliament which met in November 1391. Otherwise he appears in the records only once more: in May 1407, when he stood surety in Chancery for John Tregolas, a Cornish brewer. His precise relationship to John Glasen* has not been ascertained.
