Biography
Doublet, a tanner by trade, paid 4s.6d. as poll tax in 1379. He owned some property in Reading and Whitley, and witnessed deeds there. On the earlier occasion of his election to Parliament (1385) he received 10s. for his attendance, but had to wait until the following year before being paid. When up at Westminster for the second time, in November 1391, he offered surety in Chancery for two local men charged with a breach of the peace. He was dead by August 1407.3
