Biography
Descended from a wealthy Hampshire family seated at Rotherwick since 1629,1 Tylney, a Tory, was defeated at Whitchurch in 1715. Recovering the seat at a by-election in 1721, but unseated on petition a month later, he was defeated at the general election of 1722. He died 2 Oct. 1725, his property passing after the death of his daughter, Anne, Baroness Craven, to his niece, whose husband, Sir Richard Child, Viscount Castlemaine, adopted the name of Tylney.
