Biography

Nightingale succeeded to estates worth nearly £300,000 left by his first cousin, Sir Robert Nightingale. Shortly afterwards he married one of the daughters of the 2nd Earl Ferrers of Chartley, near Stafford, for which he was returned in 1727. He voted with the Opposition in every recorded division, did not stand again, and died 16 July 1752.
