Biography

Bedull witnessed a Reading deed in 1375. During his term of office as mayor he received expenses for two visits to London, the first of four days’ duration when reporting to a royal commission ‘si dominus abbas contribuevet cum villa de decimo domino Regi concesso’, and the second in order to obtain licences for the burgesses of Reading in the Parliament of January 1380 to return home early. In February 1386 Bedull witnessed a transaction between Henry Barbour I* and Richard Pernecote*.2 He is not recorded after his election to Parliament in 1388.
