Biography

A collector of the poll tax of 1379 within the borough of Leicester, Bailly witnessed a document there in 1381. In 1405 he stood mainprise for Sir Richard Stanhope* when the latter was granted custody of the lands of Sir Nicholas Goushill*. In 1408 he was associated with John Church* in obtaining land in the suburbs of Leicester. He was present at the borough parliamentary election of 1411.
